ELIGIBILITY

The International Youth Peace Awards 2024 is open for entry to;

  • Persons who are 24-36 years
  • The award is open to everyone respective of their geographical location
  • Person with record of accomplishment in matters peace building and conflict resolutions.
  • Self-driven and ordinary persons with achievements in communities’ development.
  • No criminal record
  • Individuals or groups.

AWARDS CRITERIA

The International Youth Peace Awards 2024 announced annually, is given by the International College of Peace Studies selected committee to recognize any outstanding efforts by individual youth and groups.

Participants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be individuals between the ages of 24 – 36.
  • Must have influenced peace in the international level, national, or local community.
  • Must demonstrate excellence in their area of work through actions of integrity and dedication.
  • Must demonstrate an ongoing commitment towards the success of its communities.
  • Participants must have started a project a year before June 1, 2024 with evidence of commitment to delivering positive change.
  • Demonstrate capacity for leadership
  • Addressing key local and/global issues in their work
  • Have a track record of generating impactful and innovative ideas
  • One application per person.
  • Applications should be submitted in English.

The Award:

The International Youth Peace Awards 2024 symbolizes peace love and unity in the fields of peacemaking, dialogue, and conflict resolutions.

  • The award will have 1st 2nd and 3rd category
  • A certificate setting out the nature of the prize and the citation on which the award is given.
  • International College of Peace Award poster featuring the awardee’s photo
  • Be featured in our ICOPS news release.

How and When to Nominate:

This year nominations are open. The nomination window opens on 27th May 2024 and will run until 7th June 2024. Youths from Kenya, Africa and all the nations of the world are eligible for nomination. In Kenya, nominations will be picked from all the counties and from various organizations.  Nominations from organizations or individuals should come with citations/references giving full details of the nominee’s service and background.  This should beforwarded to the Chairperson of the Peace Award Committee.

To nominate an individual, fill out a nomination form, available on our website www.collegeofpeacestudies.com. Completed forms emailed to info@collegeofpeacestudies.com (Nomination forms can also be downloaded from our website or be picked from the office during working hours 10:00am to 3:00pm.)

Judging Panel and Process:

The International Youth Peace Awards 2024 program is a peer review process, based on information supplied in the written entry, the technical vetting committee may also do call backs to relevant entities to authenticate the nominee written submitted information. The Judges’ decision is final.  For the International Youth Peace Award to be granted, an entry will have to satisfy each of the stated criteria at an appropriate level. The Award Committee reserves the right to make changes to the number of awards in each category. Therefore, there is no guarantee that each category will have an award.

The Panels:

The International Youth Peace Awards 2024 Judging Panels are responsible for reviewing all award submissions and deciding on the winners. The panel is comprised of diverse and a broad spectrum of professionals, including peace educators, academicians, humanitarian diplomats, health workers, program coordinators, security personnel, researchers and senior clergy, all of rich leadership acumen. The panel is drawn from Kenya, Africa and across the world. 

Conferment of Awards:

The vetted nominees of the 2024 International Youth Peace Award will be honored on Friday 12th July 2024 at CITAM Karen, Nairobi- Kenya from 2:00pm to 9:00pm.

KEY POINTERS TO TAKE NOTE:

  1. Nomination forms are available on the College website. They can also be picked from the College office in Karen, Next Kenya School of Law.
  2. Nominations to be received by the International Youth Peace Awards 2024 committee, not later 7th June 2024. Nomination forms will be emailed to the college through the college email address: info@collegeofpeacestudies.com
  3. The International Youth Peace Award 2024 Committee will review and recommend nominations to the College Board of Management.
  4. Nominations are tabled at the Board Meeting for approval and recommendation. Awardees will be advised either by post or email before the award day for preparation
